SANTIAGO (Xinhua) -- Chile and Brazil on Monday signed an agreement to enhance cooperation between their defense ministries.

Chilean Defense Minister Jose Goni and his Brazilian counterpart Nelson Jobim signed the defense cooperation agreement, which includes mutual exchanges of knowledge and experience.
Goni said the agreement provided a framework for strengthening broad and systemic cooperation between Chile and Brazil's defense ministries and armed forces.
He said Brazil has a great power of defense-related science and technology and Chile hoped to enhance cooperation with the country in this field.
The agreement also said that the two nations will continue to deepen cooperation in Antarctica.
