TEHRAN – Media reports suggest that Slobodan Kovac will part company with the Iran Volleyball Federation.

It seems two sides are not going to bury the hatchet.
Under tutelage of Kovac, Iran didn’t meet expectations after Team Melli finished eighth place out of 12 teams in the 2015 FIVB World Cup held in Japan.

Kovac criticized the Iranian Volleyball Federation and said they wanted to impose the Iranian assistants on him.

Head of Iran's Volleyball Federation Mohammad Reza Davarzani had already declared they would sack Kovac if the Serbian coach doesn’t change his way.

“We suffered several disappointing defeats in the 2015 FIVB World Cup. Expectations are high for Iran volleyball team and we need to show a better performance in our upcoming events,” Davarzani had said.

Qatar current coach Juan Manuel Cichello and Andrea Anastasi are candidates to take charge of Ira volleyball team.
