Ambassador Meets Azeri Interior Minister

BAKU Azerbaijan's Minister of the Interior Ramil Asubov told Iranian Ambassador to Baku Ali Reza Bigdeli here Friday that he looked forward to seeing that a protocol for legal cooperation between Iran and his country would be approved by the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Tehran shortly. He also appreciated Iran's efforts for curbing drug abuse, and said as the result of cooperation between anti-drug squads of Iran and Azerbaijan more narcotics had been seized from traffickers.

The Azeri offical also observed that his government recognizes an extradition treaty between Iran and Azerbaijan and would extradite every Iranian criminal to be found on the Azeri soil. The Iranian ambassador appreciated the observations by the interior minister of Azerbaijan and said collaboration between Law Enforcement Forces of the two neighboring countries would contribute to their own security and stability.
