TEHRAN Being open to new ideas, Martyr Morteza Motahhari, made use of logic in replying the ideas instead of excommunicating them, President's Advisor for Women's Affairs, Mrs. Zahra Shojai, said here in a ceremony held Sunday to commemorate Motahhari and the teacher's day. Addressing a gathering of teachers and girl students at Rahiyan-e Fazilat High School, Shojai said that Motahhari was never in conflict with other people's thoughts and new ideas.

He was an advocate of women's rights and has several articles under the title of Women's Rights in Islam. Motahhari was of the view that the more doubt there is about Islam and our religion, the more it will develop, Shojai added. Undoubtedly, it will be in the benefit of Islam since Islam is the religion that is open to discussions.

Head of the Center for Women's Participation Affairs, affiliated with presidential office, stated that one of the significant policies of President Seyed Mohammad Khatami is to pave the way for talks between the nations. She added to reach the very objective we should have precise plans in both internal and international arenas. Iran, as a sample of an Islamic system should make plans to ease tensions, make peace and enhance Islamic civil society where people are allowed to express their ideas within the framework of law.

May 2, Martyrdom Anniversary of Morteza Motahhari, is called in Iran teacher's day.
