Greek-Iranian Economic Relations Discussed

ATHENS - Iran's Ambassador to Athens Mahdi Khandaqabadi, Tuesday met Greek Economy Undersecretary, Alekos Baltas, and reviewed the progress of economic ties between Greece and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Both sides expressed the desire to expand and promote economic and trade cooperation between the two nations, an Iranian embassy source told IRNA here. A greek delegation is expected to visit Tehran soon with an aim to promote trade, economic and political ties between Greece and Iran. Last Sunday the Greek Ambassador to Tehran Dimitri Tsikouris and Governor General of Kerman Province Masoud Mahmoudi discussed expansion of Tehran-Athens relations in all areas, the economic field in particular.

Briefing the Greek Ambassador on immense potentials of the Iranian province, Mahmoudi said that in the light of many historical and economic common points between the two countries, there were ample grounds for further promotion of the bilateral relations. Tsikouris said that his country as a member of the European Union is interested in boosting Tehran-Athens economic relations. (IRNA)
