Tehran-Beirut Economic and Educational Cooperation Reviewed

BEIRUT - Economic and cultural cooperation between Iran and Lebanon were reviewed in two separate meetings here Saturday between the Iranian Charge d'Affaires Mohammad Irani and the Lebanese Minister of Education Jean Obeid and Minister of State for Economic and Financial Affairs Fuad Siniora. In his meeting with Obeid, Irani briefed him on the latest Iranian achievements in the field of educational affairs, saying that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers the educational and trainning issues as one of its basic domestic policies.
Obeid, saying that progess of any nation depends on advancement of its educational system, expressed his country's readiness for exchange of experience with the Islamic Republic of Iran in educational areas. The Iranian charge d'affaires in his meeting with the Lebanese Minister of State for Economic and Financial Affairs who is also the head of the two countries' economic commission, discussed the Irano- Lebanese cooperation in the areas of economy and commerce.
The Iranian Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ali Abdolalizadeh is expected to lead a high ranking Iranian delegation to Beirut next week in order to chair the Irano-Lebanese economic commission. (IRNA)
