TEHRAN The Editor-in-Chief of the daily Iran Fereidoun Verdinejad was acquitted here Monday by the special press court working under jury system. One of the charges was made by a Majlis representative on publication of a caricature, which had no resemblance whatsoever with the Majlis deputy. Another complaint was lodged on publication of news related to Law Enforcement Forces. According to the Law Enforcement official, the dissemination of the news in the daily would weaken the force's ability.

However, the editor of Iran rejected the charges. Verdinejad further told the court that his paper was fully prepared to assist the Law Enforcement Forces in strengthening the foundation of the social security. (IRNA)
