Iran and Ukraine Sign Contract on Music

TEHRAN Iran and Ukraine signed a contract on mutual cooperation to carry out musical research as well as other related activities. The contract was signed by Iran's Morteza Kazemi who is a deputy for the ministry of culture and Islamic guidance for artistic affairs and his Ukrainian counterpart, Vladimir Rozhek. According to the contract, Ukraine will help Iran to establish its first conservatory to train young musicians.

An Ukrainian traditional music group will also visit Iran in six months while several senior members of Ukraine's symphonic orchestra are to travel to Iran to offer courses on scientific music for university students. Leaders of Iranian symphonic orchestra will also visit Ukraine to take short courses in music. The leader of Ukraine's symphonic orchestra will conduct a especial performance for Iranian musicians here while Iran's composer Farhad Fakhreddini, will lead a classical music performance in Kiev early summer this year.
