Iranian Embassy Denies Involvement in Intelligence Activities in Azerbaijan

TEHRAN The Iranian Embassy in Baku issued a statement on Saturday, rejecting the unfounded allegations that Iran conducts intelligence activities in Azerbaijan Republic and attempts to acquire nuclear weapons. The statement read, Recently, some Azerbaijan-based dailies, published by certain foreign nationals, have reported on alleged intelligence activities of Iran in Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic's attempts to acquire nuclear weapons. The Iranian Embassy in Baku, while rejecting the false allegations, reiterated that by dissemination of such spiteful news the enemies aim at casting a shadow on Tehran-Baku relations and divert the Azeri public opinion from the recent onslaught of the oppressed nation of Palestine in the Palestinian occupied lands.

The embassy underscored that such discord-sowing acts of certain foreign nationals, who have penetrated into the Azeri press, will certainly face defeat.
