Malaysian Parliament Speaker Due in Tehran Today

TEHRAN Malaysian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Zaher bin Ismail heading a high-powered parliamentary delegation is due to arrive here today. During his seven-day visit to Iran, Ismail will confer with several Iranian officials including Majlis Speaker Hojjatoleslam Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri and Vice-Speaker Hassan Rouhani on ways of expanding parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Malaysia. The Malaysian Parliament speaker will also call on President Seyed Mohammad Khatami and Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi and hold talks with them on matters of mutual interest to Malaysia and Iran. He is also scheduled to visit the Iranian holy city of Mashhad and the beautiful and historic city of Isfahan.
