Venezuela Calls For Expansion of Parliamentary Ties With Iran

NEW YORK Venezuelan Senate President Pedro Pablo Aguilar and Iranian Ambassador to Venezuela Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh in a meeting in Caracas on Wednesday discussed parliamentary relations between Tehran and Caracas. During the meeting, also attended by head of the Foreign Policy Commission of Venezuelan Senate Luis Vera Galez, Aguilar called for adoption of a comprehensive plan by Iranian and Venezuelan legislatures to establish consolidated relations between their parliaments.

Keshavarzzadeh, handing over a message from Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri to Aguilar, said that Majlis is interested in expanding ties with Venezuelan Parliament. He expressed hope that Nateq Nouri's visit to Venezuela will be a turning point in parliamentary relations between Tehran and Caracas. Aguilar conveyed his warm greetings to Hojjatoleslam Nateq Nouri and called for upgrading of parliamentary relations of his country with Iran and exchange of parliamentary delegations.
