Nouri: Last Year Elections Made Enemies Change Tone

JAHROM, Fars Province Participation of 30 million people in last year's presidential elections has disappointed the enemies and forced them to change their tone and attitude, said the Interior Minister Abdollah Nouri here Monday. Speaking in a local gathering of the people of Jahrom, he added that the huge turnout of people in last year's election has also satisfied the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. Nouri said, ``During Khatami's presidency, our country has improved its international standing and we enjoy friendly relations with the neighboring states.'' He further said, ``Islam in Iran is the result of suffering and sacrifice of the martyrs and endurance of the people, and this is why it is so valuable.'' He concluded by saying that because of the success of the Islamic system, in the aftermath of the victory of the Iranian Revolution the world arrogance has worked to prevent spread of Islam in the world.
