Al-Khalifa: Iran-Bahrain Ties Improving

TEHRAN The Bahraini Emir Sheikh Eisa bin Salman al-Khalifa underlined that Tehran-Manama relations enjoy a growing trend, an IRNA report said. In an interview with the Arab daily Al-Hayat published on Thursday, Al-Khalifa said, We expect from President Khatami the opening of a new page in relations, not only with Bahrain, but with the other states in the region, The emir of Bahrain spoke to Al-Hayat in Paris on his way to the United States for an official visit which begins on Sunday. He urged Iran to resolve the problem with the United Arab Emirates over the three islands in the Persian Gulf. He said Bahrain supports the holding of an Arab summit, whether a full summit or a mini summit, to review the situation in the Arab world.
