Iran's Deputy FM Confers With President of Congo Brazzaville

TEHRAN Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister in African and Middle East Affairs Mohammad Sadr met with the President of Congo Brazzaville Sassau Nguesso in Brazzaville on Thursday. In the meeting, sadr handed a written message from President Mohammad Khatami to President Nguesso. Sadr said that many venues exist for the cooperation between the Republic of Congo Brazzaville and the Islamic Republic of Iran and that the foreign policy of Iran gives top priority to its cooperation with African nations." He thanked the government of Congo Brazzaville for its whole-hearted cooperation with Iran at international level, specifically appreciating that country's stance in casting the `nay vote' on the human rights resolution.

Praying for fine health of President Khatami, President Nguesso expressed the desire for bolstering an all-out cooperation between Tehran and Brazzaville. President Nguesso welcomed the two nations' cooperation at the international level and expressed joy over Iran inaugurating its embassy in Brazzaville and considered it a good beginning for further promotion of bilateral cooperation.
