Fukuoka festival to hold Asghar Farhadi retrospective

TEHRAN -- The Focus on Asia-Fukuoka International Film Festival Fukuoka plans to hold a retrospective of Oscar winning Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, organizers have announced.
 
“Dancing in the Dust”, “Beautiful City”, “Fireworks Wednesday”, “About Elly” and “A Separation” will be screened during the ten-day event, which will open in the Japanese city of Fukuoka on September 14.
 
A portrayal of the breakup of a marriage, “A Separation” won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film this year.   
 
This film received the Fukuoka Audience Award in 2011.
 
Farhadi is currently in Paris to make his next film with an Iranian-French cast. Shooting is scheduled to start in October in and around Paris for the untitled French-language film that will star French actor of Algerian origin Tahar Rahim and “The Artist” Argentine-French star Bérénice Bejo.
