TEHRAN -- London’s Gallery 8 is currently playing host to an exhibition of calligraphic paintings by the leading Iranian artist Sadeq Tabrizi.

Entitled “Lyrical Painting”, a selection of 40 works has been put on display in the exhibit, which opened on September 24 and will be running until October 5, the gallery website has reported.

“Ten works have so far been purchased by private collectors, but I am expecting more to sell in the coming days,” Tabrizi told the Persian service of MNA on Monday.

He also said that he has arranged his London exhibit to introduce Iranian and Islamic art to the world, adding, “In the world of today, it is a great honor for me to introduce my country with eloquent and original art.”

Tabrizi is one of the few contemporary Iranian artists who have made a great contribution both to the creation and the dissection of modern art in Iran.

He has displayed his works in many national and international galleries and exhibitions.
