TEHRAN -- A pictorial book on Iran’s historical caravansaries has recently been published.

Anusheh Pirbadian has taken the photos for the book entitled “The Caravansaries of Iran”.

Pirbadian spent about three years taking the photos for the book, which has been printed by Haft-Rang Publications in Tehran, he said in press released on Friday.

“I have traveled with my car across Iran to take the photos,” Pirbadian added.

Some of the caravansaries are located in regions which are difficult to access. Thus, Pirbadian’s book contains only photos of the caravansaries that are easily accessible.

However, he said that he had faced many serious difficulties in his travels to the regions.

Photographer Maryam Zandi wrote a preface for the book, calling Pirbadian “a talented young photographer”.

She said that Pirbadian plans to publish other collections of photos from the villages, rivers and churches in Iran.

She also described the book as a major source for future studies on Iranian caravansaries.
