TEHRAN -- A bust of the contemporary Persian poet Hamid Sabzevari is due to be unveiled this week in his hometown Sabzevar in Khorasan Razavi Province.
Commissioned by Sabzevar Municipality and City Council, the bust has been made by the young sculptor Hadi Arefi.
A selection of the poetry composed by the poet has also been inscribed in the nastaliq style of calligraphy around the bust.
The bust will be unveiled on the sidelines of the commemoration ceremony arranged to be held in honor of the poet in Sabzevar, secretary of the ceremony Reza Shoja told the Persian service of IRNA on Friday.
Pasdaran Blvd. of Sabzevar is the location where the bust will be situated and the street will be named after poet Sabzevari as well, he added.
Several prominent poets and literati have also been invited to attend a poetry night organized on the sidelines of the program.
Hamidreza Shekarsari, Nader Taravatpur, Gholamreza Shokuhi, Mostafa Mohaddasi Khorasani and Mahmudreza Ekramifar are expected to attend the poetry night on Monday.
