|Damonfar Painting Biennial opens in Tehran||
Damonfar Company Managing Director Seifollah Puya-Rad, the biennial secretary Farah Osuli and a group of Iranian artists attended the opening ceremony.
“I feel confidence when I see the brilliant works and young artists emerging at the Damonfar biennial,” veteran painter Osuli who is also the secretary of the biennial said during the ceremony.
One hundred works by 70 artists have been put on display at the biennial, which is dedicated to artists under 25.
“Today, the young Iranian artists have secured their own place in the world and showcase their works in major international galleries,” she stated.
She thanked Damonfar for organizing the biennial and asked the company to remain steadfast in its decision to hold the biennial.
The festival was held in all fields of the visual arts during its first edition. Afterwards, its organizers decided to hold it biennially with a focus on painting.
Damonfar is the Iranian representative of France’s Pebeo and Canson, and Germany’s Faber-Castell, three companies that manufacture art materials.
This edition of the biennial, which runs until October 19 at the gallery of the Mellat Cinema Complex, is also sponsored by the Saman Bank.
