IAF highlights Hossein Mahjubi’s 50 years of painting

TEHRAN -- Fifty years of Hossein Mahjubi’s achievements in painting was commemorated during a ceremony at the Iranian Artists Forum on Sunday evening.
 
Mahjubi, a number of cultural figures, and his fans and colleagues attended the ceremony.
 
“Behind the world of his paintings and the beauty of his works, Mahjubi wishes human beings peace and moderation,” art critic Javad Mojabi said in a short speech.
 
Iranian filmmaker Khosro Sinaii also called Mahjubi a “painter of peace and happiness” and said, “Mahjubi complains of the catastrophe caused by man against nature nowadays.”
 
Fifty works of Mahjubi were also put on display in a weeklong exhibition on the sidelines of the ceremony. 
 
The works have been selected from Mahjubi’s collections “Trees”, “Horses”, “China”, “Russia” and “South Africa”.
 
In addition, a book entitled “A Selection of Hossein Mahjubi’s Private Collection” was unveiled and Mahjubi signed some copies for his fans and friends.
