TEHRAN -- Veteran Iranian stage director Pari Saberi has praised the management of the Iranshahr Theater Complex for raising the standards of the cultural institution.

“Management in a cultural complex is very important and I think the Iranshahr Theater Complex enjoys a prominent director,” she said in an interview published on the website of the complex on Thursday.

She said that the director has been given the greatest compliments by people who have performed at the complex.

“When you enter Iranshahr you can certainly feel its cultural atmosphere. Thespians feel at home when they are at the place,” Saberi added.

Iranshahr is one of the satellite institutions of the Iranian Artists Forum, which is helmed by Majid Sarsangi, who has a Ph.D. degree in theater from a British university.

Iranshahr has become a favorite haunt of stage actors and directors since June 2011 when Sarsangi was appointed by the IAF.

Many big names of the Iranian theater have performed at the complex over the years.

“There have been some people, who have watched the first ever play of their life and this is very important, because low numbers in audiences at a theater cause plays to die,” Saberi said.
