Composer Mohammad Beiglaripur passes away at 67

TEHRAN -- Veteran composer and the conductor of the Islamic of Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Symphony Orchestra Mohammad Beiglaripur died at Tehran’s Iranmehr Hospital on Wednesday evening. He was 67.
 
Beiglaripur was suffering from lung cancer over the past few months.
 
He composed Iran’s first national anthem after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1980. 
 
He composed over 1200 works, among which are “Iran”, “Prophet Muhammad (S)” and “The Revolution”. 
 
His funeral procession will begin from the Belal Mosque on Saturday morning.
 
According to his last will and testament, he will be buried beside his mother’s grave in Tehran’s Behesht Zahra Cemetery.
