TEHRAN -- A Dari narration of a selection of stories from Mehdi Azar Yazdi’s “Good Stories for Good Children” will be released in the form of audio CDs in the near future by the Mah-e No Publications.

Mohammad-Amin Zavari and Masumeh Ahmadi will narrate in Dari 20 stories, mostly with religious themes, selected from the eighth volume of “Good Stories for Good Children”.

The second series of the CDs will be released by the Mah-e No Publications as well, the producer Mohammad Sarvar-Rajaii mentioned in a press release.

“Good Stories for Good Children” won a UNESCO prize in 1966 and was selected as Iran’s best book of the year in 1967.

The book was written in eight volumes based on the great works of Persian literature like the Gulistan (The Rose Garden), Masnavi-e Manavi, Marzban-Nameh, Sinbadnameh, and some stories from the Holy Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (S) and his Household (AS).

Azar Yazdi planned to write other volumes for the series.

He passed away on July 9, 2009. Azar Yazdi was also author of “The Naughty Cat,” “The Playful Cat,” “Simple Stories,” “Poetry of Sugar and Honey” and “Masnavi of Good Children.” His “Adam” was chosen as Iran’s book of the year in 1968.
