TEHRAN -- Mahnaz Sadri has recently completed the translation of the teens’ novel “Gelsomino in the Country of Liars” into Persian.
The novel was written by the Italian writer and journalist, Gianni Rodari (1920-1980), who was most famous for his children’s books.
The novel is about Gelsomino, who is not an honest boy, but one day he himself was deceived by the entire population of the Country of Liars.
Many consider Rodari Italy’s most important twentieth-century children’s author. His books have been translated into many languages, though few have been published in English.
