TEHRAN – The Iranian actor/director and theater scholar, Qotbeddin Sadeqi, plans to publish Persian translations of four plays by world celebrated playwrights in the near future.

“Ajax” by Sophocles and “The Seven against Thebes” by Aeschylus are two of the plays.

“War on the Third Floor” by Czech-born Austrian playwright Pavel Kohout is also among the plays.

The other one is “The Battle/Medea”, which is a combination of German playwright Heiner Müller’s “The Battle: Scenes from Germany” and “Medea Material”.

The plays were directed by Sadeqi in various theaters of Iran over the past decade.

“The Battle/Medea”, which was staged at Tehran’s Molavi Hall in May 2010, was warmly welcomed by theater aficionados.

All the plays will be published by Qatreh Publications.
