TEHRAN – An Iranian troupe will perform “The Valley of Yellow Flowers”, a play about the life story of the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, at the Qashqai Hall of Tehran’s City Theater Complex this evening.

The play, which will be directed by Mehdi Haselpur, is an adaption of “Three Opinions about the Man Who Came from Nowhere”, a novel written by Iranian writer Nader Ebrahimi (1936-2008), the theater complex announced in a press release on Saturday.

“Like many other world politicians, Imam Khomeini has not been portrayed on stage very much,” Haselpur told the Persian service of MNA on Friday.

“It was interesting for me that an author like Ebrahimi has written such a book on Imam Khomeini,” he added.

Bahman Abbaspur, Kiumars Qanbari-Azar, Hamed Dowlatabadi, Mina Panahi and Mohsen Roshani are the main members of the cast of the play, which will be on stage until June 14.
