TEHRAN – A number of major Iranian publishers have participated in the Karbala international book fair, which opens in the Iraqi city today.

Over 190 publishers from 13 countries have participated in the book fair, an official of the fair Muyaser al-Hakim said in a press release on Sunday.

No names were mentioned for the Iranian publishers.

Most of the publishers are from Lebanon. Major companies from Egypt, Syria, Jordan, England, U.S., Saudi Arabia, Algeria, India, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates are also scheduled to offer their latest publications during the event, Al-Hakim stated.

The book fair runs until June 24 in the courtyards of the holy shrine of Imam Hossein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS).

The fair is held on the sidelines of the annual Rabee Al-Shohada Festival in Karbala.
