TEHRAN -- Iranian illuminator and miniaturist Mostafa Aqamiri plans to hold an exhibition of his latest works in Paris in the near future.
“I held an exhibition of my illuminations and miniature paintings in 2011 at Iran’s Cultural Attaché’s Office in Paris as well as at the UNESCO Headquarters, which was a positive step to introduce Persian art,” Aqamiri told the Persian service of IRNA on Tuesday.
A collection of 70 works with the Quranic and religious themes were put on display at the exhibits in Paris, he said, adding that he plans to follow the same theme in his next Paris exhibit.
Aqamiri was raised in an artist family. He won the second award at the 4th International Illumination and Miniature Festival of Algiers in October 2010.
He also received a gold medal from the 4th Sharjah Biennial for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy in August 2010.
