TEHRAN -- The Persian translation of Charlotte Bronte’s first novel “The Professor” has been republished after 23 years in Iran.

The first edition translated by Esmaeil Kayvani was published by the Hessam Company, but the new edition has been published by Jami.

“The Professor” is the story of William Crimsworth, a young man who describes his maturation, his loves and his eventual career as a professor at an all-girls school.

The book was the first novel by the English author Charlotte Bronte (1816–1855). It was originally written before her popular novel “Jane Eyre” and rejected by many publishing houses.
