| Venice university displaying Persian Gulf photos |

Thirty-six photos taken by Italian photographer Riccardo Zipoli between the years of 1975 and 1995 have been put on display at an exhibition entitled “A Gulf, a Strait and a Sea”, the university announced on its website.
The photos have been taken in Iran’s Bandar Abbas and on Hormoz and Qeshm islands.
The collection also includes photos of Iran’s port city of Chabahar in Sistan-Baluchestan Province.
Old maps of Persia, and a selection of Hafez poetry translated into Italian are also being shown on the sidelines of the exhibit.
Visitors can watch films and documentaries on the region and listen to regional music via computer sets located in different places at the exhibit.
The exhibit has been arranged by the Department of Asian and North African Studies in Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with the Culture Department of Venice.
Riccardo Zipoli was born in Prato (Italy) in 1952. He obtained his degree in Persian language and literature at Venice University in 1975 and since then he has been teaching Persian language and literature there.
The exhibit will be running until October 15.
