| Iran’s Lian to hold workshops at Malaysian festival |

Band leader Mohsen Sharifian, Mahmud Bardaknia, Hadi Manuchehri,and Akka Safavi will hold the the first workshop on bandari dance and songs on June 28.
Bandari is a kind of exciting rhythmic music and dance that are common in the southern Iranian cities including Bandar Abbas, Bushehr and Abadan.
Sharifian, a prominent player of ney anban and ney jofti, is also scheduled to hold a workshop on these Iranian wind instruments on this day. He will also repeat the workshop on June 29.
A workshop on dayareh, an Iranian percussion instrument, will be conducted by Morteza Palizdan on June 28.
Lian’s percussionist Hamid Akbari will hold a workshop on zarb, an Iranian percussion instrument, on June 30.
Lian, which is from the city of Bushehr, will also perform concerts during the festival.
Since the formation of the Lian Band in 1993, Sharifian has released nine albums and performed around the world from the U.S. to the Far East.
