TEHRAN -- The Persian version of “The Tajik Golden Heritage” was unveiled during a ceremony on Wednesday at the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.

The book has been authored by Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, the Persian service of ILNA reported on Thursday.

The IPIS has published the book under auspices of the Iranian Embassy in Tajikistan. It contains a brief history of Tajik art and culture.
Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali-Akbar Salehi, Zarifi and groups Iranian officials and literati attended the unveiling ceremony of the book.

“We do not separate ourselves from Iranians since our civilization lies in this country,” Zarifi said during the ceremony.

“I am happy that the Iranians can read the book since I believe that Tajiks and Iranians have cultural and historical commonalities,” he added.

“The Tajik Golden Heritage” has previously been published in Tajik, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, English, French and German languages.

In February 2013, Zarifi was honored by UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova with a UNESCO gold medal for writing the book. He received the medal for his worthy contribution to the promotion of the ancient culture of the Tajik people.
