Iranian reciter finishes second in Malaysian Quran competition

TEHRAN – Iranian Quran reciter Mohammad Mashmul came in second in the 55th International Tilawah Al-Quran (Quran Recital Assembly) held at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
 
Indonesian participant Dasrizal Marah Nainin was named the first winner, and the third award was given to Malaysian reciter Anuar Hasin in the male category, New Straits Times, an English-language newspaper published in Malaysia, reported on its website yesterday.
 
The first prize winner took home 350g gold pieces accompanied with a trophy and a certificate of appreciation. 
 
Moreover, Hajar Boussaq from Morocco was named the first winner in the female category.
 
The competition, which began on June 29, saw participation by 59 individuals: 37 male and 22 female reciters from 48 countries including Sudan, Egypt, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Mauritius.
