| Sangelaj to host comic-musical adaptation of Shahnameh’s Zahhak story |

TEHRAN – A theater troupe will begin performing a comic-musical adaptation of the Zahhak story from Persian poet Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh at Tehran’s Sangelaj Hall this evening.
Reza Shafieian will direct the play entitled “The Chef Offers”.
The troupe previously performed the play at Sangelaj in summer 2010.
The troupe mixes ru-hozi, a form of traditional Iranian theatrical performance, and the technique of shadow play to change the epic story of the battle between the evil ruler Zahhak and the mythical hero Kaveh into a musical comedy play.
Sara Bahnoar, Shahabeddin Hosseinpur, Hamidreza Khalili, Vahid Raad, Shahruz Shabestari, Reza Shafieian, Arash Azizi and Neda Golrangi are the members of the cast.
