The film was also reviewed during a panel discussion, which was attended by groups of students from the college, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Monday.
Karimi was invited to the program, but she was not able to attend the event since she was busy acting in “Dinner with Friends”, a play which is currently on stage at the Iranshahr Theater Complex in Tehran.
“Final Whistle” is about a documentarian couple, Sahar and Saman, who have their calm life disrupted. Sahar is informed that the mother of one of their cast members faces a death sentence due to a murder charge. She then begins trying to convince the relatives of the decedent to overturn the sentence.
The film won three awards at the 18th FICA -- Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema in February 2012. It was also selected as the best film at the International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg in Germany in November 2012.
The European Film College holds 34-week courses on filmmaking for students from across the world. Screening film and holding review sessions are regularly organized during the courses.
