Actor Jamshid Mashayekhi awarded Order of Art and Culture

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_16_SB68(2).jpgTEHRAN -- Celebrated Iranian actor Jamshid Mashayekhi has been honored by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with the First Grade Order of Art and Culture.
 
“In appreciation of your merit and the efforts you have made in the elevation of the nation’s art and your long service to the Islamic Republic of Iran, you are hereby honored with the First Grade Order of Art and Culture,” Ahmadinejad wrote in a mandate published by the Presidential Office on Monday.
 
Mashayekhi, 79, has played in over 70 movies and popular TV series.
 
He made his debut in “Brick and Mirror” directed by Ebrahim Golsestan (1965). He also starred in Dariush Mehrjuii’s acclaimed film “The Cow” (1969) and “Qaisar” by Masud Kimiaee (1969).
 
He also played memorable roles in the popular TV series “Kamalolmolk” (1983) and “Hezar Dastan” (1987) directed by Ali Hatami.
