TEHRAN -- “The Last Days of Winter”, a documentary about a group of boys at a youth detention center in Iran, will be screened at a number of French theaters again, director Mehrdad Oskuii announced on Monday.

“Due to the warm welcome the film received at last year’s screenings in France, the owners of the French theaters have asked to show it again this year,” he told the Persian service of ISNA.

Theaters in ten cities including Paris will begin showing the film on November 8. Oskuii has been invited to attend the review sessions, which will be held after the first screening in each theater.

The film focuses on the lives of 7 teenagers, inmates in a juvenile correctional unit, during the last few days of winter while Tehran prepares for the Iranian New Year. They share their thoughts about what brought them there and the means of escape from a cruel destiny.

The film was distributed by Dreamlab, a French studio producing, promoting and distributing independent short and feature films, whether fiction, animation or documentary.
