|Tehran center to host Latin American cultural festival||
TEHRAN – Tehran’s Arasbaran Cultural Center will host a cultural festival of Latin America from October 14 to 18.
The Embassy of Venezuela has organized the Latin America Cultural-Artistic Festival to commemorate its Day of Indigenous Resistance, the Tehran Municipality’s Art and Culture Organization announced in a press release on Thursday.
The day is celebrated annually on October 12 in Venezuela to commemorate their national fight for self-determination, unity and cultural and human diversity.
The day also serves to vindicate the indigenous peoples of the American continent and as well as the contributions made by the African, Asian and European culture and peoples.
Bituaya, a major Venezuelan music band, will perform pieces on Latin American resistance during the festival.
In addition, films by Venezuelan directors will be screened and exhibitions of handicrafts of the country will be held during the festival.
An exhibition at the coffee shop of the center will also feature Venezuelan cuisine.
Several Venezuelan theater troupes have also been invited to perform plays at the main hall of the center.
Photos of the Native Americans’ battle against European colonialism as well as photos of Venezuelan tourist attractions will be showcased at exhibitions during the festival, which will be held under the auspices of Tehran Municipality’s Art and Culture Organization and the Iran-Venezuela Friendship Society.
