|“Black and White” director wins Goethe-Institut Award at Iraqi festival||
TEHRAN -- The Iranian filmmaker Jalal Saedpanah won the Goethe-Institut Award for best director at the Dohuk International Film Festival for his “Black and White”.
The film is about a girl named Nazi who never liked her father’s job, but she forced to do the same work.
Saedpanah was presented the award for his mastery in depicting “a multilayered story” that is “rich in metaphors”, the festival jury said in their statement during the closing ceremony of the festival on October 16.
The Duhok International Film Festival is organized by the General Directorate of Culture, Arts, Sports and Youth of Duhok City in cooperation with mitosfilm, an independent Berlin-based production company.
