|“Trucker and Fox” named best doc at Chicago festival||
TEHRAN – The Iranian documentary “Trucker and Fox” has won the Gold Hugo Award at the 49th Chicago International Film Festival.
Winners were announced during the closing ceremony of the festival at the W Chicago-City Center Hotel on October 18.
Directed by Arash Lahuti, “Trucker and the Fox” chronicles the life of Mahmud Kiani Falavarjani, a documentarian who does not have any academic education and is a trucker.
“The documentary manages to be extremely funny, while still treating its subject with respect and subtly, finding a wider resonance in the story of a man trying to make a film about two donkeys in love,” said the jury about “Trucker and the Fox” in its statement.
The Gold Hugo for Best Film of the festival went to “My Sweet Pepper Land”, a joint production of Iraq, France and Germany, directed by Hiner Saleem.
