TEHRAN -- National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) Director Es’haq Salahi and Sweden’s Second Secretary in Tehran Eric Salmgren von Schantz discussed the expansion of relations during a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday.
They held talks at NLAI, where Salahi gave an information briefing about the library and its variety of activities.
He said that over 80 agreements have been signed with different libraries around the world. They have no agreement with the National Library of Sweden, however their relation with the library goes back 12 years.
He added that if the National Library of Sweden dedicates a special section to Iran, NLAI is ready to provide the section with a selection of Persian and Arabic books about Iran, Islam and the Islamic Revolution for researchers.
Eric Salmgren also said that cultural agreements are the best bridges between countries.
He also asked to expand cultural collaborations between the two countries.
NLAI is home to a collection of books, articles, documents, theses and periodicals about Sweden.
