|Persian readers to enjoy “Forbidden Games”||
TEHRAN – A Persian translation of the World-War II drama “Forbidden Games” by the French author François Boyer has recently been published in Iran by the Gol-Azin Company.
Qasem Sanavi has translated the book into Persian.
François Boyer (1920-2003) was a French screenwriter who achieved considerable success with his first attempt at screenwriting, “Forbidden Games”, in 1952.
Initially, he found no studio interested in his work, so he redesigned the screenplay as a novel and published it in 1947 under the title “The Secret Game”.
“Forbidden Games” (French: Jeux interdits) is about five-year-old Paulette who loses her parents and pet dog in a German air attack on a column of refugees fleeing Paris in 1940. The traumatized child meets 10-year-old Michel Dollé whose peasant family takes her in.
