|Book on Heydar Aliyev’s role in friendly ties between Iran, Azerbaijan published||
TEHRAN -- A book studying the role of Heydar Aliyev, former president of Azerbaijan, in the expansion of friendly relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan has recently been published in Baku.
“Heydar Aliyev and the Outlook for Permanent Friendship with Iran” has been written by Mohsen Pak-Aiin, the Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan, Persian service of IRNA reported on Thursday.
The book, which has been published in 112 pages by Khazar University, was unveiled on the sidelines of a ceremony at the Iranian Embassy held in Baku to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Minister of Transport Zia Mamedov and a number other Azerbaijani officials attend the ceremony.
“Due to the special position of Mr. Heydar Aliyev in policymaking in Azerbaijan, and since Iranian officials regard his views as a roadmap to the expansion of relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, I began to compile his views,” Pak-Aiin write in the preface to his book.
Heydar Aliyev was the third president of Azerbaijan for the New Azerbaijan Party from October 1993 until his death in October 2003, when his son Ilham Aliyev succeeded him.
