TEHRAN -- Shabaviz, a leading Iranian publisher of children’s books, will be offering 440 of its latest publications at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in March.

A total of 140 Iranian illustrators have worked on the books, which will go on display at the fair running from March 24 to 27, Shabaviz Managing Director Farideh Khalatbari said in a press release on Sunday.

In addition, works by three Iranian illustrators Amin Hasanzadeh, Jila Hodaii and Morteza Zahedi have been selected for the catalogue of the fair this year, she added.

Khalatbari hoped that Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance would provide additional means to enable Iranian illustrators to attend the fair.

Since 1964, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy is the most important international gathering for professionals involved in children’s publishing.

With a distinguished focus on copyright exchange, each year publishers, literary agents, authors, illustrators, editors, translators, librarians and booksellers meet in Bologna to enjoy the best in children's books and digital products.
