|Persian artworks on show in Lahore College for Women University||
TEHRAN – An exhibition displaying collections of Persian artworks and tourism attractions of the Iranian provinces of Isfahan and Shiraz opened in the Persian Department of the Lahore College for Women University on Wednesday.
The 10-day exhibit has been organized by the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore, the center has announced on its website.
A number of Iranian and Pakistani cultural officials including the Vice Chancellor of the university Sabiha Mansoor attended the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sabiha Mansoor said that the Persian Department of the university has long been active in the university and they hope to help promote Persian language and literature more.
She added that the university is willing to increase collaboration with the universities of Iran and asked the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore to cooperate in this regard.
Over 600 students are currently studying Persian in Lahore College for Women University, which is an independent women’ s university in Lahore, Pakistan founded in 1922.
