|Egyptian novel “Sunset Oasis” coming to Iranian bookstores||
TEHRAN – A Persian version of Egyptian author Bahaa Taher’s post-colonial novel “Sunset Oasis” will be published by Iranian publisher Nilufar in the near future.
Rahim Forughi has translated the book into Persian.
Set in late 19th-century Egyptian social and political life under British rule, the book is about Mahmud Afandy who is an Egyptian official working for the British administration in Cairo when he is dispatched to a remote village almost 800 km from Cairo near the Libyan border to be the local governor there.
