Ira to perform at Turkish festival in May

TEHRAN – Ira, the Iranian ensemble led by oud virtuoso Hamid Khansari, will perform at the Fethiye Festival of World Music in Turkey in May.
The ensemble is scheduled to give performances for three nights during the festival running from May 8 to 11, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Tuesday.
The ensemble features Yashar Etaati on kamancheh, and Anar Etaati and Arsalan Alizadeh on violoncello.
Ira has previously performed in Ukraine, Venezuela, Bolivia, Armenia and several other countries.
Various groups from Italy, Britain, Morocco, Senegal, Malaysia, Indonesia and several other countries will participate in the festival.
Musicians from across the world come together annually in Fethiye, a city and district in the Aegean region of Turkey, to contribute to the city’s arts and culture, helping to promote friendship, mutual respect and understanding.
