|95 intl. publishers register for Tehran Book Fair||
TEHRAN – A total of 95 international publishers have registered for the 27th Tehran International Book Fair, which will run from April 30 to May 10.
Forty publishers from Arab countries including Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq are among the registered applicants of the fair, director of the international section of the fair Alireza Rabbani told the Persian media on Monday.
The other fifty five foreign publishers are coming from different countries, or their distributors in Iran are taking part in the fair, Rabbani said.
He added that a number of the 22 Iranian publishers active in the publication of Arab books have also registered. The publishers are either representatives of Arab publishers in Iran or are publishers of Arab books themselves.
Iran’s national airline Homa has also offered a 70 percent discount to foreign publishers to carry their packages of books to Tehran.
The annual fair will also be held in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla this year.
