|Iranian oud virtuoso to perform at Tunisian festival||
TEHRAN – The Iranian oud virtuoso Majid Nazempur will perform at the 12th edition of the Nights of Soloists, a program which will be held in Sousse, Tunisia from April 11 to 19.
His performance has been set for April 17 at the Sousse Municipality Theater.
Musicians from Egypt, Turkey, Greece, France and several other countries will also perform during the event.
The oud is a pear-shaped stringed instrument commonly used in Middle Eastern music, which is distinguished primarily by not having frets and is often seen as the predecessor of the Western lute.
Nazepur, 41, has previously performed at music festivals in Morocco, Oman and Malaysia.
