|Actor Nasser Gitijah dies at 79||
He died of a heart attack Tuesday night at Tehran’s Day Hospital, his wife told the Persian service of MNA.
In 1958, Gitijah attended courses for acting at the Community of Barbad, a private educational institute in Tehran for theater and music.
He played his first role in “Postman” directed by Rafi Halati in 1961.
His role in Reza Attaran’s acclaimed movie “I Feel Sleepy” brought him an honorary diploma at the 30th Fajr International Film Festival in 2012.
He has played in several TV series and telefilms during his career.
He played memorable roles in the popular TV series “Morad Barghi” and “Haft Dokhtaroon” directed by Parviz Kardan as well as “Tenth Night” by Hassan Fat’hi.
He is scheduled to be buried in the Artists Section of Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery, his wife said.
